Karen and Lewis celebrated their marriage by hosting an intimate ceremony with family and friends in their backyard and then heading to their favorite restaurant, Yang Ming in Byrn Mawr for lunch.
Radiance by Ry styled Karen's hair and makeup at home. She got her dress at Claire's Fashion in Newcastle, Delaware. She chose jewelry that was meaningful to her-- pieces that had been passed down by family and friends. Amaranth Florist in Narberth put together a beautiful bouquet and classy boutonnieres.
Temperatures were in the 90's and it was SO HUMID! But Karen, Lewis and their bridal party still let me take some photos of them outdoors before the ceremony.
Family & friends joined them at the house for a mid-day ceremony. Tom Jackson was their violinist and Bruce McDowell was their officiant. They chose readings and hymms and showed their commitment by exchanging rings.
After the ceremony we all went to the park across the street to get this photo of Karen and Lewis with their community. After a few other group photos and some portraits of just the couple we headed to Yang Ming for lunch. Yang Ming was a frequent dinner destination while Karen and Lewis were dating.
When Karen was working overseas, a man in a village proposed to her and said he would give her two goats for her hand in marriage. When Lewis proposed to Karen he brought along three goats as a joke. The couple brought goat cake toppers and goat's milk soap to celebrate that part of their relationship. Their beautiful (and delicious) cake came from Viking Pastries.
Karen and Lewis shared a private moment away from their party and before restaurant's dinner guests arrived.
